I need to erect a screen on an area with a solid rock base...any suggestions as to how I support it (no trees/buildings available) as I cannot dig down? icon_confused.gif

go down the tool hire shop and get a rock drill... maybe anchor the bolts in epoxy and bobs your uncle.

You can buy square metal post bases from most DIY stores, and these are bolted to the base (in your case rock) and the post slots in.

You may have to level the bases first, by either using timber wedges, or better, a bit of strong mortar.
