We can not figure out why this machine sounds like a 747 landing every time it spins. It vibrates my whole house! It's solid as a rock sitting there, and it's level and has room all around it. I've started using the lower spin speed and put a weight on the top (about 30 lbs.) Helps a little, but . . . what gives???

Uneven load? not sure on your model but on our siemens it gradually runs up to speed after doing a load adjustment, The name of your machine suggests that it senses this perhaps the sensor is playing up? or it is not ramping up to speed?

bearings or gearbox?

(no gearbox is not a joke, old HP top loaders have them, but its called a power unit)
