Bottle trap - Ikea sink
Reply with quote Thanks

I'm going to be installing an Ikea sink but didn't want to buy their 'orrible white plastic bottle trap as I want a nice chrome one.

This is probably a daft question icon_redface.gif but will I be able to fit a non-Ikea trap? I don't know why but I've got in my head that they have daft sizes for things?

Has anyone installed an Ikea sink before using standard pipes etc?

For sure you can Amanda.
1.5" waste outlet on sinks.
1.25" outlet on basins.

32mm = 1.25 inch as clf-gas says for basins .
40mm = 1.5 inch for sinks.

Dont use 32/1.25 for your kitchen sink it will be prone to blocking.

I thought all the ikea waste bits were the silver plastic???

Its a total waste of money using chrome traps which are out of sight.

The six chrome wastes in our store have an outlet for copper pipe and dont fit normal plastic waste.

Tip, the ikea waste is available on its own at a surprisingly reasonable price. Queueing for two hours to but it is not so good.

Are we talking about the same thing here?

I want a nice chrome bottle trap which will be on show beneath my wall mounted bathroom sink.
