Radiator Pipe Removal

I would like to remove a radiator and a couple of metres of radiator pipe. However, the system is a back boiler. Would I need to connect the 2 pipes together for my flow and return or can I just cap these pipes off?

Thanks very much. Is there a way I can cut these pipes without draining the system down? I don't mind getting a bit wet!
