electrical wiring extractor fan

my extractor came with no instructions the connections are listed as
L =live
SL = ?
N = Neutral
M1 = ?
M2 = ?
SL & N are linked
I have wired up Live and Neutral nothing works any help Please

send it back then or ask where you got it from for a set of instructions, from what you have posted its amazing it didnt go bang

My guess is that M1 & M2 are the connections to the fan motor.
Absolutely there should be no link between neutral and switched live.

Whats the make & model, the instructions are often on the web, if you look./.

Can u post a photo?
