Punto, sound coming from the window wiper motor

A grinding metal sound coming from the window wiper motor when in operation.
The wipers are still going ok but noise is worrying.
Can it be fixed or do I need to buy new motor

It's probably the wiper mechanism itself. The ball and socket joints are prone to wearing.
Get ready for a hefty bill from fiat for a new mechanism

Maybe pick a motor up from the breakers yard instead.

mine does that, then after a bit it goes quiet again.........................
