I need to take out the valve form a Tivoli shower unit for cleaning. Do I need to shut off the water supply and if so where would the shut-off be in a 1970's house? Also, what's the best tool to use if the valve is proving obstinate? icon_confused.gif

In that case, tie up the ball valve to a piece of wood resting on the cistern which will cut supply to it.

Run off an upstairs cold bath tap until it stops, and then run off your hot bath tap.

You can now work on your shower. icon_biggrin.gif

Not really a good idea assuming!

Make sure or you will get wet. icon_wink.gif
