Hi,

My wife has decided we need lights under kitchen cabinets. Believe these could be installed on a fused spur from power circuit but is it possible to get them attached to lighting circuit?

Yes. BUT dont try powering them from a switch! This doesn't work (unless theres a bunch of neutrals taped up in the back of the switch!)

No problem with that, but as crafty says, to break into the lighting circuit, you usually need to get above the ceiling to pick up a live and neutral from a ceiling rose. Normally, light switches don't contain neutrals.

Thats why for convenience, a spur taken from a nearby socket is often used.
