My parents bath hot water tap has been dodgy for a while, to the point that it provides no water. Taken the cover off the tap, and found a non-descript valve in place, that seemed totally seized. Anyway to free that up/take it apart? As presumably when it is removed, it will shoot the backlog of water out?
My thinking atm are; take tap cover off, and squirt valve with WD40, and leave turned on?
Dissolve a calcium tablet in water and spray all over the workings of the tap?
Attach a hose to the hot tap, and back pressure it from the cold tap?
All of these options sound highly likely to fail on a majestic scale. Dripping taps, I can nearly get my head round, but no water?
