never seen red T+E..

I'd of thought that if it needs to be red then it will probably also need to be fire resistant so they'd use FP or similar?

cant remember, but either the detector/call point circuit or the sounder circuit can be wired in twin and earth.

It is red to distinguish it from other twin and earth. In most alarm systems the detectors and call points can be wired in T+E, tho usually any colour will do. The bells and supply feed would have to be in fp or similar.

Red mini-trunking is also available.

thats the way round, sounders on the FP or similar, detectors in T&E if you are really cutting costs. seen it done, but never done it.

Red T+E was used for the supply to the panel and for any detection circuits. Sounders where done in Pyro or FP.

For the last 7 or 8 years, all wiring (zones, sounders, supply) needs to be installed in fire resistant.

Wouldn't it be important for the 240 v supply to be in fp or pyro etc in case of battery failure?

You can get the red metal-clad switch fuse units, but then the tails before this are never fire-proof.

Have seen many fire alarms fed from plastic consumers units.

Anyone know what the correct practice here is?
