Sisters just moved into new house, just been round to turn on heating, anyway theres a bit of mould in front bedroom all round window, and in corner of room same wall as window, but a good 4 ft away

The loft has 2 tiles which are vents, the felt underneath has just been ripped and left dangling down (prob doesnt make a diff), had a look outside and no other house in the row has these vents, so look like an add on

Just wondering what would be the reason to fit them

The loft has been boarded and all insulation thrown into the eaves, all piles up, not sure if there are any soffert vents or anytrhing, if there was and this was done would if restrict air flow and cause moisture??

Its a rent so just want to makesure its ok, before getting onto the lanlord,

Cheers guys

You need to check if there are any trickle vents fitted to the windows.

Stuffing all the insulation under the eaves wont help the problem, if there are any vents fitted the air flow will be restricted.
Sounds like someones removed the insulation above the ceilings, stuffed it around the edges and boarded over the ceiling joists.

Best to get onto the landord, you need minimum 270mm insulation in the roof space plus a good air flow.
