Hi, I need to replace my oven and hob.
I have chosen a double oven (to be wired with 6mm cable).
If I go for an electric hob, the cooker installation instructions say I should take 2.5mm heat resistent cable from the same outlet as the 6mm cable so they can both by isolated by the same switch. The outlet would be very cramped and the the cable clamp and knock-out part of the outlet only suit a single cable. Is the instruction acceptable?
Alternatively, if I go for a gas hob, the one I've seen comes with a heat resistance cable complete with plug. Can I plug this into a socket that will sit behind the oven/under the worktop and therefore cannot be isolated from the kitchen.
Advise appreciated
