Positive Discrimination - Positive Action

I didn't realise that this was some sort of lesson, I thought it was a discussion forum, it's also interesting that you consider yourself to be the teacher...

Get you

Not really, I don't agree that a dislike of positive discrimination implies racial prejudice,
I didn't say, imply or suggest that.
But it could be a reason, one of many, for now complaining against discrimination. I use the word" perhaps" in the post.

I think your original comment quoted below:

Secondly, re the "now Positive Action is now allowed" I was implying that negative discrimination was acceptable amongst racially prejudiced people, but now that "Positive Discrimination", albeit we can't call it that, is now allowed, the racially prejudiced people have started to complain. Edit: Perhaps the racially prejudiced people are now complaining because they perceive that they are losing the inherent advantage that they enjoyed because they were part of the majority.Does that clear up the confusion?

Is a little ambiguous but the "perhaps" refers to a possible reason for the racist to be complaining rather than a possible reason as to why people are complaining... or am I reading it wrong?

I'm not body-swerving. I have no need to.
I do not support positive action - I clearly stated so, on page 17.
To borrow your condescending style, "Do keep up."
OK. It's your right to disagree with it.
Why do you disagree with Positive Action?

That's an OK comment, but, if you join in a discussion after 24 pages and you haven't read the previous pages, especially post 1, page 1,then expect me to recap the gist of my reasoning, from page 1, then you can hardly complain for my being a little tetchy.

I have read it, I was the 5th or 6th poster?

I think you're reading it OK, even if you're explanation was a little tortuous.
My intention was to suggest a possible reason why racially prejudiced people are now complaining.
It was not meant to imply that that was the only reason to complain. Some people, racially prejudiced or not, may just perceive disicrmination wrong.

Does that clarify it?

Bearing in mind that I have little more time now to discuss the issue or your interpretation of my comments, etc.
But I'm happy to continue this discussion later.

Yes it does clarify, I suspected it to be the case rather than a very derogatory, sweeping and incorrect (I don't favour positive discrimination for reasons already given and I am not racially prejudiced) statement which is how it could be interpreted.

Yes I recollected that you had commented before, and you made your position quite clear then.
Which is why I suspected that you were just intent on wasting my time.

Do you honestly still want me to explain why I consider Positive Action to be desirable?

Perhaps when we have left the EU?

(Why are we the only country to NOT ignore EU diktats?)
But this is surely why we should stay in the EU... to help design those diktats which everyone other than us ignores
But the discussion about staying or not in the EU is a far greater and wider discussion than simply Positve Discimination/Action. Therefore, surely it deserves its own thread.
And I have no intention of responding here, to the topic of Brexit any further, because it is deserving of its own thread.
And now I have to go.

If you don't already know why I disagree with PA, you either can't read, can't be bothered to read, are too stupid to understand, ..................

Girls get funded through uni to study science subjects. Boys rack up £40k of debt to do same.
Fair enough to you, RH?

I'm not trying to waste your time, I'm just interested as to how, in this modern age, some people still find discriminatory practises to be acceptable; I understand that you feel it's necessary to 'level the playing field' and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion and I've enjoyed trying to understand it, it's not changed my opinion but it has given me food for thought. :D

Sorry Brigadier, there's a fourth reason, short of time.
Catch you later

But not unrelated, obviously. Especially if one narrows one's field of vision down to the relevant component part. ;)

Can't I just get a little abuse form my troubles? Pleeeze
