Noticed a steady drip this afternoon coming from the boiler. Immediately switched it off fearing the worst. Took the cover off and it's the pressure gauge that is leaking. At the rear of the pressure gauge there is a cable and a spring, the spring sits inside the rear of the pressure gauge and it seems that the spring is corroded and so there is water coming out of the gauge itself. It drips at around a rate of 1 drip per second and water is now actually filling up inside the gauge itself.
Firstly, how do I turn off the water supply to the boiler and secondly, if I buy a replacement pressure gauge, will it be easy to reinstall? The opposite end of the pressure gauge is connected to a pump of some sort by a brass nut,
Thanks in advance.
