What, for making people aware that there are scammers out there posing as concerned bystanders whilst lifting folks' belongings? The rozzers will say the same to folk - i.e. be vigilant and don't give the crooks an easy ride.

Correct. However, the OP whined that the rozzers weren't doing enough about his wifes' purse being snatched. I just told the truth in that they would tell her to be vigilant and not get sucked in and especially not to make it easy for the crooks - rather than post armed guards and provide trained gunmen to escort her shopping next time and commit a dozen trained detectives to investigate.

I wasn't whining that the Police weren’t doing 'enough‘ about my wife’s purse being snatched. I'm realistic enough to know that some crimes just can’t even begin to be investigated. I was 'whining' because they were doing **** all. There's CCTV in the car park, at Sainsbury's tills (where they had more that likely clocked her pin) as well as in the bank - the bank told us they had cctv of the person withdrawing the cash and would pass it on to the police IF they requested it. As private individuals, we are not able to request copies of cctv AND THEY KNOW THAT but they still told her that if she could obtain the CCTV and bring it to them AND the pictures were clear, they might investigate it. Furthermore, she had a message left on the phone and was told to phone a number to give further details. She received that message on Saturday. She phoned them straight away and the answerphone message said they were only open Mon-Fri 9.00 - 4.00. She was going to that do but on Sunday, she had an email saying that as she hadn’t phoned they were closing the case! I’ll 'whine' again. Lazy ****s.
