Hi, I have a Vitodens 200 with a pressure problem. I made a thread a while ago regarding this but still have not got it fixed. One engineer quoted me nearly £500 so obviously I rang another two. One said just below £400 the other said £350. Obviously at this time of year even £350 is a lot with kids and xmas just around the corner.
I thought to myself I will just keep releasing the pressure until after xmas. After more reading though I see this is not a good idea. Every time I do I am losing the inhibitor and have noticed the water to be clear now. Obviously in the long run this will cost me more replacing the full system.
After leaving a comment on youtube asking for help someone has said the pressure expansion vessel might just need recharging. He also said to press it and if water comes out then the tank will need replacing. Excellent I thought, I will give it a go. Trouble is when I unscrew the cap (like a bike tyre cap) their is no pin in the hole (like what you would get on a bike tyre and press with finger to release air) Is this the correct part or is this something totally different? It is located on top of the boiler behind the flue.
Thank you.
