Who would have thought gutting council budgets and giving them more responsibility for Adult Social care from 2012 (Health Act pushed through by Lansley) would leave so many now to cut services and raise taxes.
Adult Social care - accounts for about 22% of the budget for local councils. Housing accounts for 3%.
Adult social care covers services for older people including nursing, home, residential and day care and meals and services for people with a physical disability, learning disability or mental health needs.
