Climate: The Movie

You are putting far too much faith in what you're being told by the television, which I gather you watch rather a lot of. Sorry, but I posted a reasonable and balanced film
You're quoting a film.

97% of climate scientists believe that global warming is both real and mostly caused by humans. Do you agree? If not do you have more than a video to support your beliefs?

So why did you post a video that takes a one sided dishonest view which contains numerous myths and misinformation

I must be really ignorant. Silly me. Also, I'm not sure there are any videos out there that cover literally every angle on this so it's a case of considering different sources and drawing it all together, is it not? Do you complain about the television programmes being so one sided and full of myths and misinformation, or do you only do so when people have different opinions to you?

Anyway, you obviously know better than I so I will await your reasoned response to my previous two invitations. Scientific sources for your strident opinions please...

At last. Some sanity.

Is man making it worse, or not?

Its a very simple question ? Prepared to answer it?
Yes man is making it worse --- by a tiny tiny amount which has been exaggerated and weaponised in order to use as a vehicle to tax us more. I would believe governments more if they said - "You know what man made climate change is a disaster so if you do x y or z then you will pay less tax for doing the right thing" but instead they make us pay ever more tax.

Wrong.

There is only one peer reviewed source for this claim and it has been discredited for including large numbers of researchers who do not have any scientific credentials, including research where they merely speculate about the possibility but don't say with any certainty one way or the other, and rounding up to give the impression of consensus.

Also, consensus is a political concept, not a scientific one. Whether some or many people agree or not is irrelevant. Most people once thought the sun orbited the earth, a handful knew otherwise.

carbon credit scams to shift the dirty stuff to emerging countries like India and China.

This, I am in agreement with you.
It's like scraping the dog shoite onto your lounge carpet, and being happy that your shoe is now clean

The other thing that makes me laugh is when the BBC show sea ice breaking up and melting and say its rising the sea levels and dumb idiots believe it.

Look, Notch, I'm more than happy to accept that you know more than me about the subject of climate change and the influence man has on it. I'd therefore like to invite you again to help myself and others to learn from your background and knowledge in this field. And since your perspective argues that we need to radically change course as a society, I think it is fair to say that the onus is on you to explain why.

Please provide links to peer reviewed research papers by suitably qualified scientists where they categorically conclude that climate change is,
via CO2 emissions, definitely caused by human activity and that human activity is definitely a significant contributor. Requirements:

- must be from serious scientific journals, not YouTube, science magazines, newspapers, blogs or televsision.
- must be work published by people with advanced degrees in the natural sciences and professorships in scientific disciplines. Extra marks if these are in physics.
- must express the same level of certainty that you are yourself claiming. Words like "might", "may", "could", "possibly" and "probably" shouldn't be featuring if this is a settled matter.
- the IPCC Reports to Policy Makers don't count
because they are inaccurate brochures for dummies like Sunak and Starmer, although you may use the scientific reports that precede these.

This will be easy for you to do Notch as you have more expertise on that than ignorant people like me.
Why do you want peer reviewed scientific studies as evidence?

If you were interested in an factual, evidence based debate you wouldn’t have posted a film built on myths and misinformation.

I havent provided a level of certainty, all Ive done is check the film "climate the movie" and discovered it contains a string of myths

if this is a settled matter.
you are trying to reduce to the argument to a binary yes or no, to use as a logical fallacy

the concensus amongst scientists is that global warming is a result of human activity.

I do believe debate must continue so we learn more.........I dont see how presenting misinformation as the argument for "your side" helps that debate at all

what causes rising sea levels then

What an idiot you are
From here on I will view all of your posts through the prism of you being an idiot  and not waste my time replying to you.

Sure I am happy to help you learn.

My advice is not to just believe documentaries on climate change just because it fits your bias.

in fact take your own advice and look for peer reviewed studies
