Riello Burner Question for Oilman

Now let's see, .......yes, I'm getting.......no it's gone.........wait! wait! it's becoming clearer..........DRAT!!! it's all that smoke, or is it steam........

Well you have been to the boiler, is it steam or is it smoke? There's a lot of difference, and if you can't tell, you have a problem. It's not worth going further without knowing.

there look to be some fundamental housekeeping problems from what you say, and random guessing will not fix it. Sort out the problems you see without the burner running, then sort the running problems. If customer doesn't want the job doing properly, you don't need the job.

Oilman,

Have sent this to your email address as well to double my chances of you answering it.

Went back to that Riello and changed the nozzle. No joy. Stuck in a new pump and away she went.

I set up the pump and burner as best i can using my Riello Training manual. 60 80 S nozzle 2.7 on the damper setting etc. See i am trying to do it right. 4% on the FGA. (this figure is wwrong in the email i sent!!!)

All was sweet until the burner had run for a minute and then i had loads of white smoke/steam billowing out from underneath the boiler!!!Probably got a split water jacket, not smoke, its steam ,itsste

Now the ground on the boiler house is wet (bad installation) and there has been a lot of oil split in there over the days.

Im praying this steam from teh ground but it was still coming after teh boiler had run for 10 mins albeit not as much. Could this be a leak in shell??

I took teh top cover off and baffle plates off and looked in for split oil inside. No sign. When i ran teh burner with all this out there was no white smoke/steam.

Any ideas here my friend??

None but why do you keep writing "the" as "teh" ?.
Its really beginning to bug me.

Then use the "ignore" facility (which I can't find though I understand exists) or bug off.

And slapper has as much ability as a slug I passed today, or maybe the slug was a bit brighter.

And your stepping around in a flood of oil and water and you expect the forum members to believe that you are doing this "right".

you could have a split water jacket internally, that could be where your steams coming from

I take it you have no positive contribution to make then? You have demonstrated this amply so far. Your other username isn't Softus is it? Though he is usually much more helpful than you, who are no help at all.

I have a friend who makes similar mistakes to grill, and he is FAR cleverer than I, though I don't make those mistakes. Could just be that grill is miles cleverer than you (though it seems that wouldn't be too difficult).

Good to see we are all on top form tonight!!!

No dyslexia just totally crap typing and i saved teh in the dictionary by accident so it doesn't pick up on it!!! Hope that is that sorted!!!

Well any smoke that i have seen coming out of an oil boiler has usually been black so im assuming its steam but if there is anyway it might be smoke then PLEASE enlighten me.

Believe me i thrive on finding out new info no matter how much abuse i have to take so be cruel to be kind.

I was thinking about the shell problem but how do you tell?

At the risk of getting a *******ing should i run the boiler until the boiler house had dried out and take it from there??

Body armour on. Unleash the abuse!!
