Thanks. She won't be able to trump that answer!

Any Way of Burying an Electrical Connection in a Wall?

The light has it's own on/off. The fused spur is at head height in the room corner so it cannot be converted into a socket. It just sits there, so I understand why my wife wants it chased in/buried.

Any Way of Burying an Electrical Connection in a Wall?

Hi, I removed an old wall-mounted bar heater in my daughter's bedroom (powered by a spur from the ring circuit), to re-use the outlet for a wall light. The heater was previously controlled via a switched fused spur. All the cabling is chased in, so only the fused spur box (where the cable...

Is There Anything Like a 'Parallel' Terminal Block?

As a matter of interest, how would a pro. insulate a connector block in a tight space, e.g. base of a light fitting, before the chocbox? It was only invented on the Dragon's Den quite recently, I think.

Is There Anything Like a 'Parallel' Terminal Block?

Hi, I'm about to replace a pendant with a new-style, flush light fitting. The wiring itself will not be a problem. I have a 15-amp terminal block to connect the three lives - two reds into one end and the third into the opposite end (will wrap in insulation tape afterwards). To a...

Can a Shower Pump Be Used in a Flat?

Muggles - let me thank you for replying. The plumber who installed the system came today and figured out the problem in two minutes. Inside the shower rose where it screws into the horizontal pipe of the riser, there was a plastic disc that was restricting the flow. This meant the apperture...

Can a Shower Pump Be Used in a Flat?

Hello, I live on the ground floor of a seven-storey block of flats with a communal water system. Hot water comes from boilers & calorifiers in the basement (pumped, I assume), cold water comes from a tank in the roof via an old 2-inch lead downpipe (gravity-fed, I assume). I have always had...
