We have no idea, the stringer is against an interior brick wall, which is not attached to any exterior wall at all. The wall above the stairs suffers with a circular patch which always shows up and paint bubbles and flakes when put on that patch.

No it's leading upstairs, a screwdriver pushes into the wood quite easily, it's seems quite rotten just in one spot, the rest is solid

Hi, noticed my staircase had dropped slightly in one spot, causing a crack along the closed stringer. Looks like the stringer has rotted and cracked in places. Is this repairable? Pics attached, excuse the cobwebs, I haven't been under the stairs for a very long time

I have patches of paint bubbling no matter what I've tried putting on it. It has zinnser damp block, and one coat satin but still bubbles. Any ideas??

A mist coat??? I don't know what that is? A light spray of paint I guess? If so then no, it's had a coat of zinnser stain block, then a coat of one coat satin

Hi all, new here, I'm no expert! I'm redecorating, and some patches of wall I'm painting, insist on bubbling and flaking off the wall? What would cause this and what can I do about it?
