Tado: linking UFH to existing HW and CH setup, and is there any point?

Yet another post from someone trying to work this out from Tado's terrible online docs! I have a Tado doing upstairs radiators and hot water, the upstairs is on a wireless thermostat (that it turns out could have been wired but the old unit was wired up backwards so never actually did anything...

LED Downlights recessed into celotex (not by me!)

There's enough clearance directly "above" the fitting I think, just nothing "around" it. They basically just cut the hole for the light straight up into the insulation at the same diameter. In any case no way to get above it as it's under a sealed flat roof. The new one I've put in is fire rated...

LED Downlights recessed into celotex (not by me!)

I'll preface this by saying that the builders the PO had in doing this extension were complete clowns and there are all sorts of idiotic things we keep finding around the place (example: laying an entire floor and then treading paint all over it and not bothering to clean it up), but this one...

Bathroom downlight dropped down and now the springs won't hold it

This is a real pain! The guy that decorated the bathroom did not appear to have encountered a downlighter before so caulked the damn things in so heavily that when I came to replace a bulb the whole unit came down instead of just the bulb holder and buggered up the plasterboard in the process -...

One radiator not heating up after balancing and a drain/refill

Right forgot to post back on this, it was what I guessed at - closing down the lockshields on the other two radiators on the top circuit (which I'd done because the things were banging away at 5 in the morning) somehow stopped flow to the towel rad. I opened up the lockshields and hey presto...

One radiator not heating up after balancing and a drain/refill

Pretty clean. The system was power flushed when the boiler was fitted about 2 years ago, there's dirt in there for sure as when the magnetic filter was last emptied it had a load of crud on it, but when I drained it it was all clear. I'm wondering if when I balanced the rads I shouldn't have...

One radiator not heating up after balancing and a drain/refill

This is a frustrating one! Radiators are spread over 3 floors, one on the ground which is right next to the boiler (Worcester Bosch Greenstar 30si), 4 rads and a towel rail on the second floor with one rad currently disconnected for (very slow!) decorating, then 2 rads and a towel rail in the...

Fitting a new radiator, valve tails sealed? Am I going mad?

Done now, did exactly as suggested and whacked a screwdriver through the plugs and twisted them out. Cheers for the tips! Now to hang the damn thing!

    Kudox radiators, never again

Yeah done now, did exactly as suggested and whacked a screwdriver through the plugs and twisted them out. I was always told that if it didn't move, don't force it, so I guess I missed the followup lesson of "unless you have to, then just smack it"!

    Kudox radiators, never again

If it helps I thought I was going nuts and posted basically the same thing with a stelrad this morning here //www.diynot.com/diy/threads/fitting-a-new-radiator-valve-tails-sealed-am-i-going-mad.475057/. I couldn't see the outline of the plug, figured it was all metal and didn't want to...

Fitting a new radiator, valve tails sealed? Am I going mad?

Ahh you know what I can see where the actual outline of the plugs is now! I figured that "brute force" wasn't the solution, cheers for the link!

Fitting a new radiator, valve tails sealed? Am I going mad?

I was hoping someone would say that :) Now I just need to dig up a driver big enough to get a proper grip. Honestly I thought I was going crazy looking at the damn thing and didn't want to force it and end up stripping a thread or damaging the connectors.

Fitting a new radiator, valve tails sealed? Am I going mad?

Right, I'm prepared to get laughed at here but I feel like I'm going nuts. I bought a new stelrad radiator to replace an ancient single panel one in a room that's being redecorated and got the old one off the wall without too much trouble (we were replacing that carpet anyway...), but I'm...
