    No Primer Needed For Plaster

Cheers Richard, So basically, he should not be painting that early no matter what he's using? I'm very confused as he assures me he has done this a thousand times and it's fine. What is the process to correct it if it does go wrong, e.g. paint peels and cracks, does this affect the...

    No Primer Needed For Plaster

The plaster being used is multi finish, he says he's going to use an emulsion as an undercoat, but reckons that it would be alright.

    No Primer Needed For Plaster

Cheers Richard, he will be painting after 2 days drying with no primer. I'll try and find out what type of plaster he's using, but your telling me it's unlikely 2 coats of a darker colour matte will not finish properly?

    No Primer Needed For Plaster

I've got a guy plastering and then is to paint a room for me. I've been assured that he's good and his work so far is very crisp. The only thing that has confused me slightly is he reckons that the type of plaster he uses does not require any primer or undercoat at all, just two top coats...

    Lighting Before Plastering?

Sorry for my complete lack of knowledge, typical cockney! So your saying the black bit above the light disappears into the light it self leaving it totally flat so if you run your finger across the ceiling its wall/light-base/wall without finger lifting? Or as above picture will the main...

    Lighting Before Plastering?

It's under the flush lighting section? Does the black box part on top of light sit against the ceiling?

    Lighting Before Plastering?

Hi, I'm about to plaster my ceiling. To fit the above lighting fixture or similar flush to the ceiling, does this need to be done before plastering or after? Cheers.

    Old Fireplace Cover

I would like to ask if an old fire place that has been replaced with an MDF type cover after the old gas fire was removed, can just be covered over. Please excuse my lack of building nouse. Basically old fire place ripped out, the council removed all asbestos and just covered over with a...

    Pipe Boxing

I would like to know if there is an alternative to the box piping I keep seeing on the internet, which is like a white plastic one. I have radiator pipes that stick out of the skirting and want to conceal them with a walnut wood like finish, but have not seem anything of the sort after...
