    No apparent soil stack vent

:D Well we're in. Toilet goes straight down pipe in concrete floor and then outside into the sewer. There is a manhole (seems to be two) near the side of the house. If I wanted an upstairs toilet (using a mascinator - or not), where would this be sluiced to now? can't get to anything...

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

Pretty bulky then. Running costs seem real good, but not as convenient as installing the EWCH. What about the fanned wall heaters inside? are they bulky? How do you get the pipework to them?

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

mmm ok. So what do these fans on the wall look like? A radiator is pretty unobstrusive and can sit behind things (not ideal). How big are the pipes connecting them to the 'heat source'?

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

So, on a practical level, how easy is it to instal a heat pump system? Given a 3 bed semi that I don't want to disrupt too much (no more than if installing the EWCH), with only electricity, no garage or space for one, but plenty of land to the rear. How do we transfer the heat to the...

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

Wow Plugwash!! :D Heat Pumps sound great. Just when I thought I knew what I was doing. Had a quick read through the Heat Pump Network homepage - must find some time to study better. From what I just read, it seems that this technology is CH when cold and AC when warm (by...

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

This is a new home I am moving to in a village with no gas supply. At the moment it is heated by night storage heaters so has no radiators, just the NSH. I am used to gas CH and consider that more convenient than NSH - not having to know what tomorrow's weather is etc. So, I am thinking about...

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

thanks all. Runci21, have you had it long? what are your running costs please? Total electric costs? Do you use a thermostore heated by economy and use that for the EWCH or direct from electric boiler to CH?

Night Storage Heaters vs Electric Wet Central Heating

Do we have a difinitive answer? For a given area and assuming the same Economy 7 or Economy 10 supply, for a 3 bed house, is it cheaper to run NSH or EWCH?

    Thermostore in Bathroom?

Is it ok, and legal, to install a Thermostore cylinder in a bathroom? It will be in a cupboard within the bathroom (does that count as a room within a room?). Also, what about placing the Amptec heater in that cupboard? It's the electricity in bathroom angle I am coming from. It's ok to...

    Electric shower connections

Thanks DESL, I will enquire from their site. They can probably tell me. Is 8.5 Kw ok on a 6mm cable and 32A MCB?

    Gas supply in Villages

I guess it will have to be electric then - don't think there's room for lpg or oil.

    Electric shower connections

Thanks. Why disappointed exactly? Will it not get hot enough? I never have the 10.5Kw one turned much after half way.
