When prepping cars for track, I tend to remove all that gubbins. It will keep you a tad warmer in winter.... :D The only thing to consider is what components it might have been protecting? Things behind it will rust more quickly with the added warmth.

Cheers, Nige. I was hoping that would be the answer. So Gripfil is the product to use? Good thought about degreasing. :) There is no issue with drilling into the ribs internally from a warranty perspective, but I suspect that drilling right through might cause more problems than it solves...

Thanks for the replies. I certainly don't need to panel the outside. The garage is brand new and looks nice already - just want it to be warmer in the winter and to have a better surface for mounting things on as well as something to sit sockets etc in and to run cabling behind.
