Light or solid dense concrete block?

appoligies about the mis-interpretation. Thats sounds like a plan to me , i dont fancy killing myself with those big heavy lump blocks, what about the lightweight 7N i mention what are these blocks or are they the same as u mentioned? The roof load is going to have attic trusses, will...

Light or solid dense concrete block?

Bear in mind this is a diy project, why use the 3.5N at the bottom? Sorry for the repeated questions but the builders merchant said to use lightweight 7.n for ease, is he trying to get a sale? I've ordered solids so i should change these to fibrolites, are they similar in texture? Never used...

Light or solid dense concrete block?

Are they the lightweight blocks? Are the solid dense overkill for this project and can the 3.5N be mixed with the solids?

Light or solid dense concrete block?

Also, are these 'lightweight' blocks the 7n aerated ones which can be rendered? Can they be mixed with solid dense?

Light or solid dense concrete block?

I'm hoping for some more advice regarding which block to use, i've had a look around but not really got a good explanation of which block i should use. I've used solid dense for founds and 3 inner course above ground level. Its a 100mm partial fill cavity. Should i now use lighweight 7n...

Building an attached garage- blockwork/brickwork advice?

Thats exactly what the building inspector said as i've went down 1.5m to lay the foundations an there also 650mmx250mm, so its a good foundation for further development, i know it just a garage at the moment but it's more than likey it will be converted later due to its length and not so much...

    corsa c

I had this with a customers car and it turned out to be the brake servo seal at the bulkhead. Its a bit akward to see but get a helper to have the water flowing over the windscreen and get your footwell carpets pulled back and have a look up, thats if u havent found it

Building an attached garage- blockwork/brickwork advice?

Its sounds like u've got it spot on,The bco requested me to put in insulation for 'future conversion' my original plan was for solid walls, when i agreed to it i didnt think about the opening for the garage door. The walls are now at ground level, so i'm stuck with the cavity all round, its...

Building an attached garage- blockwork/brickwork advice?

Thanks for that, so for example on the inside blockwork i should have one course with a 340mm block keep the bond on the next course and have 2 x 160mm blocks then back 2 340mm block for the next course, or should i turn the blocks on their side? if so then where would i place these as the full...

Building an attached garage- blockwork/brickwork advice?

I can see why its confusing, basically i have a 340mm section of wall to build and i'm not sure exactly how to go about it. The section is joining the existing house and meets the garage door opening. If i use facing brick then its 1 1/2 brick per course(which i have used from 2 courses below...

Building Regs - Notice Before work Commences

In our area its seven days notice after warrant approval... Most extensions are finished by this stage unless you are a 'DIY-er' like myself. In my case there where on the phone wanting exact start dates etc.
