Thanks a lot, that is helpful. Sleepers are quite a bit shorter though, aren't they?

The best way to join wood together

Hello everyone I am thinking about embarking on a project to make the attached picture, which is a raised vegetable patch. The style I like involves sections made from four planks of wood adjacent to eachother, held upright by posts, if that makes sense. I am completely new to this and am not...

Is there such a thing as cream caulk?

Thanks for the reply. The edging looks okay but it's not a precise finish. I don't think it needs to stand up to water as it's just the top of the tiles, about halfway up the walls. Or will moisture in general be an issue? Thanks

Is there such a thing as cream caulk?

Ah, thanks! I do mean caulk - this is because on some of my skirtings and coving I have used caulk after decorating and I really like the smooth finish. I'm guessing that in this instance, however, it'd be the wrong thing to do? I just prefer the smooth border rather than the harsh and often...

Wooden panels on ceiling - what to paint them with?

Hello My ceiling has wooden panels on the ceiling, painted white. I'm having a new kitchen put in and would like to paint this over the weekend so it's nice and new. I'm not sure what type of paint is on the wood. Can I just paint over it? If so, what type of paint should I use? Many thanks!

    Gap between coving and wall

PS - not worried it will come loose - just trying to fill the ugly gap! Thanks. Should this be done before or after painting the walls?

    Gap between coving and wall

Thanks a lot. Is that the same as polycell, polyfiller type stuff?

    Gap between coving and wall

Hello First post on here, so apologies for any errors in terminology etc.! I'm redecorating at home and have stripped wallpaper in one room, filling in holes and sanding them back ready for painting. In doing so, I have removed some of the seal between the bottom of the coving and the wall...
