A central heating radiator upstairs has suddenly started to leak. It seems to be at the union junction from the feed onto the radiator. Is it possible to freeze this area, undo the large nut, fit a new olive and then replace the nut. Or must the system be drained down? If I can freeze the area...

We have a old myson shower unit which incorporates the hot/cold mixer from manual adjuster dials. Problem just reared up is that the shower is now very weak pressure and to hot. I suspect the valve is cruded up with lime scale as we are in a very hard water area and have not got a softner yet...

Hi, I am thinking if purchasing some old bathroom taps from our local scrappy. The taps are most likely 1930's of solid brass and quite nice. The spindles seem to move OK but I am concerned as to wether I would be able to buy new washers and so on?? Any links or advise appreciated. Thanks.
