Replacing oven interior light - NEFF B1422

Hi, I need to replace the bulb in our NEFF B1422 oven. Unfortunately I cannot seem to be able to unscrew the bulb cover as it's stuck fast. It's also in the top corner of the oven, behind the grill element, so access isn't too easy. Does anyone have any ideas on how to loosen it? Instruction...

    Soakaway advice please

Thanks for the advice. I've finally managed to get round to start digging the soakaway. I'm about 5' down so far - 12" topsoil, 2.5' of pure clay  and about 1.5' through a layer of clay and lumps of chalk. Appears to be some sand showing as well now (though could be sandy coloured...

    Soakaway advice please

Not sure what subsoil type is. Occasionally dug up the odd bit of clay like soil, but don't know if it is all like this. How big does the soakaway need to be? Is there a way to calculate this? I have a friend who works on sewers so might have a friendly word/offer of beers!

    Soakaway advice please

Hi, One of my underground clay rainwater pipes is blocked (I found the bend where the downpipe connects was broken which lead me to find the blockage). It appears to be blocked mainly with that peaty type stuff that accumulates in the gutters and as far as I can tell it is blocked for some...

    One cold radiator

What sort of pipework do you have? If it's microbore, could well be sludge in them. One way to check (if you're feeling brave), is to turn the TRV off and very slightly and carefully loosen the nut between the TRV & the pipe leading to it (assuming the flow direction goes from the TRV into...

Im having my meter moved, & I need it reconnected to the

How much is the move going to cost you? I was quoted best part of a grand by my local supplier, just to move it from one side of the wall to the other, but they insisted on renewing all the cable from the street to the house, which would have involved me digging a 50ft long trench myself for...

Connecting up new oven & hob.

Thanks TicklyT. The oven is 2.8KW and I did consider using a 13 amp socket behind the cupboard next the oven, but when everything is finished, I won't be able to get to the socket to isolate the supply to the oven if I ever need to.

Connecting up new oven & hob.

Hi there, I've nearly finished fitting my new kitchen, just waiting for a professional to fit the worktops for me  Previously we had a free standing cooker, now have a built under fan oven with a seperate ceramic hob. The supply to the outlet is 6.0mm and the oven is already connected...

    Push Fit Fittings

Hi, What's the general view on push fit fittings? I am re-fitting my kitchen next month and I am moving the washing machine out to the new extension so need to extend a cold water feed. Wickes have some copper push fit fittings that look quite neat, but how durable & leak proof are they...

Bosch Maxx WFL2260 Spins But Not At Full RPM

Hi, we have a Bosch Maxx WFL2260, now entering it's 8 year of regular use, but it now seems to have stopped spinning at the maximum RPM (1100), and sounds more like 8-900, so clothes are not as dry as they should be. Any ideas on why this might be happening? Could it be the spin speed control...

    Fruit flies

Each summer, we get scores of these in our conservatory, even with mesh screen over open windows & doors. I usually spend a few minutes each evening vacuuming the blighters up.

    Fitting a pump

No it's a complete pump change, body & motor. Can the pump be put in either way round to match the flow direction of the old pump?

    Fitting a pump

Thanks. I realise the arrow shows the flow, I just want to check that it is simply a case of putting the pump in one way or turning it around (so it is in effect upside down) to make sure it matches the direction of the arrow on the old pump. Make/model is Circulating Pumps CP53. Boiler make is...

    Fitting a pump

Hi there, I've just sold my old CH pump on ebay. Less than a year old, but new boiler has an integral pump. Guy who has bought it has been looking at the manufacturers website, and some pictures show the pump with the arrow going one way and some the other. I've told him I'm pretty sure you...
