Your noise is almost certainly caused by either lime scale or sludge in the boiler the noise when switching from heating to water is the built in 3 way valve opening and closing water hammer behind valve seating very common on this model but noting to worry about
Of The top of my head the Space Saver doesn’t have a capillary thermostat but a electrical spot thermostat High Low and pump overrun check the wiring diagram to confirm in installation instructions or sometime inside case
I have seen plentey of boilers that require pump overun, but it has not been wired in sometimes 10 or more years old some one turns boiler stat up and hay presto faults I always find (and i have worked on a help line for a few years start at basics then move on from there don't asumme anythink
Yes Oil Man is correct this boiler requires pump to be wired back to boiler and a permanant Live supply if this is correct check pump overun stat i think newer modles the pump overrun is provided by pcb timed delay
Thanks for that I am only a dumb heating engineer  cant expect me to be able to work a computer as well. Don’t expect I will be a regular on this board as usually I don’t have the time but I am taking it easy for a few weeks with a bad back so if I can help any one out and relief my...
I have had same problem on your model of boiler that you have several times a de scale will not always cure this and it often requires a new heatexchanger quite an old model now i would look at a new boiler we always recomend Worcester for combi and a scale reducer
pcb or thermistor can not cause this problem you need to look at your 3 way valve if it is a Potterton or Myson with two little red neons than this is the likley cause
Be very careful with this these symptoms often arise if the heat exchanger has sooted up if so your appliance will BE GIVING OFF CARBON MONOXIDE CALL A CORGI REGISTERED INSTALLER OUT EMIDEIATLEY

With out trying to be funny, it doesn’t really mater if the customer is willing to pay for a fully pumped system or not that’s all your meant to be quoting for when you fill out log book you have to tick a box stating that the system is fitted in accordance to manufactures instructions and also...
Hi i am new to this forum only found it today think you really should call time on this discussion. I have been to many installations by homeowners that have been first class and much better than most installations by Corgi registered plumbers also have been to 2 or 3 that were potentially very...
If my memory serves me correctly you don’t have a anti vacuum valve are you sure you are not talking about a temperature combined pressure relief valve these can often be re set by the customer and most have instructions on side of Tank
Personally I would never re fill a system with out adding an inhibitor and probably two bottles at that. What you need to look at is the positioning of the open vent and cold feed on the system its good practice these days to always have pump on the flow. Also it is not now possible to install...
