Sleeve Gas pipe - Updated Regs

Okay, You've asked, now here are my answers: A) SLEEVE: Multiple materials are acceptable for the sleeve. Multiple Material choices have been suggested. There'll be Pro's and Con's to each of the acceptable choices. So I'd like to be able to have a technical discussion on material selection...

Andy, please read my original post again. You may have missed some of the qualifiers. I continue to ask the community for discussion on the points A - E. I came across this bulletin which is published in Ireland: Sleeving Discussion - alternative approaches It discusses the different...

Sleeve Gas pipe - Updated Regs

Hi All, A) Where can I find the most recent / updated regs, regarding sleeving gas pipework that goes through walls - for the UK (England). Looking for the most up-to-date/current regs, not superseded ones. This is an ordinary semi-detached property made in the 1930's. The gaspipe is 22mm...

Reinforcing Lap Panels - The correct way

Asking the forum for help. I've decided to replace the panels completely. 6x6 Cannot put brick or concrete there instead. Can the community recommend panels that are robust and can allow air to flow through them to reduce the pressure on the posts?

Reinforcing Lap Panels - The correct way

I'm going to re-enforce the panel joints with screws. Obviously - galvanised screws are the obvious choice. However - there are others suggesting A2 Stainless steel screws with a coarse thread. Pilot whole first then hand-screw screws in (as soft & can snap). Opinions? Alternatives?

Reinforcing Lap Panels - The correct way

They're on gravelboards. I heard that putting some brass screws on the base, to lift it from the gravelboard a few mm can prolong the life, as the base doesn't rot out so quick?

Reinforcing Lap Panels - The correct way

This is what I am aiming to do: Strengthening lap panels I am asking the communities help in discussing alternative/better ways. I want to put in the effort now, so I'm not dealing with this problem again in the next two/three years. Open to suggestions and opinions on alternative ways to...

Reinforcing Lap Panels - The correct way

Hoping to open up an exploratory discussion: Fence panels. How to competently reinforce them? (No funds to replace all 15 with stronger panels this year). But - how to do it - right: Fixings: galvanised nails/screws? Some will say stainless steel screws will suffice. Extra bracing? Is...

Stopcock - Repacking - Advanced - Graphite Rope / Nylon repacking

I'm very confused as to why graphite or teflon packing string is routinely available in the U.S - but extremely hard to find here (wras approved)? E.g: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Danco-0-09-Graphite-Bonnet-Packing/1085895

    Decent Quality Isolation Valves

Does the water meter outside most homes in london (where u can isolate the whole house) have the ability to block 'back-flow'? The house in question is a semi-detached - with a thames water meter outside on the pavement - with a round plastic access cover.

    Decent Quality Isolation Valves

Outstanding. Madrab - did you happen to come across arrows education section. They have numerous guides that cover both water regs and solutions. This is a pdf they have specifically on isolation valves, their construction, specifications and their place in water regs. It even speaks about...

    Decent Quality Isolation Valves

I've honed in on connex or pegler. However, since this is an exploratory subject - I'm curious who the maker of the poorly cast iso valve is. There seems to be a logo on the side. Asking the communities help in identifying the brand. Also - other than connex, pegler & wondervalve - are there...
