    Combi Heating Control Programmer advice

Hi, many thanks for all the replies. David, to be honest, the installers electrician also said that the Valiant programmer wasn't very user friendly, so I think I will go for the Honeywell. Thanks again for all the help!

    Cutting Kitchen Worktop Laminates

Hi, can anyone tell me how many teeth, on a 180mm dia circular saw blade, would be needed to produce the best cut? I assume its more teeth the better! Also, cutting the upside down worktop, and cutting from back to front? Thanks for any help

    carpet washers

Hi, we have 2 dogs, carpets are a little dirty! We are thinking of a carpet washer, has any one any info about how the Vax rapide/Bissell prowash compare, and compare with a pro/hire wash? Do they work as well as advertised? Thanks for any info.

    dripping overflow

Im not a plumber but it sounds to me like your ball valve is leaking a bit in the loft and lallowing the level to get high so it overflows when the boiler starts. The boiler will heat the water which expands and lifts the level in the tank. I recon air in your system would also make it worse...

    Central Heating Repair Costs

Hi, I thought as much! The valve cost me £45, the Freeze-it cant have been worth more then £30. i've suggested to her (if they don't come back with a more realistic price) to get an itemised receipt, so we can take it further from there. She has used the firm for years, but he retired last year...

    Central Heating Repair Costs

Hi, my next door neighbour had the 3 port valve in her central Heating system changed 2 weeks ago. Coincidentally, mine went last week. I am lucky enough to be able to fit a new one my self, but upon talking to her she says she paid £220 to have it replaced. Is this a normal price? (He used 3...

    Connecting a Mira Event Shower

yea, thats out of the Mira Instruction book! Sounded like an "old term" for a vent pipe, and that I knew what i was talking about.

    Connecting a Mira Event Shower

Why would the tank be fitted with a 90deg outlet to the warmer in the first place then, surely if it aids air dissipation, then that should be the minimum standard?, or was this a British Gas short cut?

    Connecting a Mira Event Shower

Hi I am installing a Mira Event, thermostatic power shower. To connect to the D.H.W, it needs a connection from the DHW tank to the warming pipe which should be at an angle of 30/60 deg's. My DHW to warming pipe is at 90deg's, which the instructions say would be an incorrect supply. Do i need...

    loo leak

yea, its looks a bit better in the flesh! These flexible pipes are being sold in B&Q, and all plumb shops now. As ive said, they are great for putting the loo where you want it to go. End of the day, the problem is the seal to the loo which looked the same as the normal plastic 90's!
