Tumble dryer vent route (moved from Information)

At present, my tumble dryer outlet goes out through the utility room wall and then vertically through an outhouse roof but because of all the recent stories about fluff catching fire, I'm trying to re-route so it runs horizontally. My only option is to vent into the garage. Would this be safe...

    Unoccupied through winter

Hi, I'm going over to the Isle of Wight for 3 months over Christmas and New Year and I don't want to come back to burst pipes. What do other members think is a sensible temperature to have on in the bungalow while I'm away? The loft has just been insulated and a new jacket placed around the...

    Vertical waste outlet

My ground floor WC has a vertical waste outlet, the centre of which is approx. 10" from the rear wall. Is there a modern wc that I can use with this outlet or do I have to move the underground pipework?

    Bathroom mirror query

I appreciate that but the instructions (wiring diagram) just show L, N and E coming in. It doesn't mention whether the should be an external isolator fitted.

    Bathroom mirror query

Hi guys, I have a heated bathroom mirror with a shaver socket on the side. The mirror heater has a non-contact proximity switch and the shaver socket switch is in a flexible plastic 'bubble'. Do I still need an isolator outside the bathroom? Your opinions very much appreciated. Thanks, Wikky

    Pump runs when cylinder satisfied

Yes, thanks Mick, that seems to be it. I increased the boiler temp a little and that seems to have cured the problem. Many thanks to all who responded to my query. Clive

    Pump runs when cylinder satisfied

Sorry - I didn't explain things clearly. I moved the pump so as to be able to tap in to the primary circuit for the towel rail so I can have heating on in the bathroom in, say, the Spring and Autumn when I don't want the whole heating system on. It has always worked fine in every other house...

    Pump runs when cylinder satisfied

There are only 2 motorised valves, 1 for heating and 1 for hot water. I have now tried turning the boiler t/stat right off and pump still runs continuously. It stops when I turn off "hot water" at the programmer (after a short over-run)

    Pump runs when cylinder satisfied

I recently moved my central heating pump so as to give me heating for my towel rail off the primary circuit. All OK except that, when no heating on, just hot water, boiler keeps firing up for a few seconds every 6 or 7 minutes. When it stops, pump continues to run. I know it's supposed to run...
