Should we take more Syrian's?

There are around 700000 empty homes in the UK
So why are we constantly banging on about the fact that we need to build more?

Because this statistic, like his arguments, is a load of cobblers.

There are 200,000 empty homes (the other 4-500,000 have been empty for less than 6 months, many places sit empty between sales/renters etc)

Now out of that 200k you will have houses that are being renovated, in the arse end of the country (not where we have housing pressure), have been repossessed but not yet re-sold).

The actual number of liveable houses sitting empty is negligible.

The road network is creaking under the current strain, such that one shed load causes hours of misery, for thousands upon thousands.
Yes good point. Lets let these people die so we don't have to sit in traffic for an extra 20 minutes. We have problems here but they are nothing compared what some of these people are going through.
No one has to die, the UK has a moral and legal obligation help innocent victims of war and persecution but it is under no obligation to provide economic opportunity for illegal migrants.

One thing I can't understand is that if these countries have been fooked up for years, why are there so many babies and little kid, and pregnant women amongst the migrants? Would YOU bring a child into the ****-hole of a country where they were living? "Oh darling, we have nothing to eat and our house has been bombed". "Never mind my love, get your knickers off".
I suppose if you have no house, no telly, no money there no much else to do to get the day in.

These are human beings in a terrible situation partly of our making. Risking their lives in the hope of something better. They aren't doing it to sponge of us for £73.10 a week. We are not full, and we can afford to help so we should.

Absolute hogwash. When do we stop? When we're actually full? If you let in a few million, where do they live? Where are all the spare hospital beds, roads, schools, jobs? They're all muzzies, don't you think we have enough taxi drivers and corner shops? Non-EU immigrants are a drain on the economy - FACT.

If you're going to let a few million in, wouldn't it be morally wrong not to let the other billions in too if they want to come here? You haven't thought this through.

Anyone listen to Vine on Radio2 today? Apparently we only let around a third of what the Germans are letting in.
Oh, and China, who you can fit about a million Great Britons into its space let in 6 people last year. Yes, six.
It matters to me not one jot how many the Germans are letting in.

Only problem is, when Germany reacts, and it will, Mad Merkel may be booted out and a hard right government installed. All of these millions of economic migrants (because that's what they are, cherry-picking their favoured destinations) will use their new EU passports to go to countries still run by soft-headed lefties. And you know which country that will be.

On Facebook last night, a friend had posted about the plight of these migrants/asylum seekers. Basically saying WE, have a responsibility to take them in. I responded by saying that if the UK took in around 3000, all that would do was empty the jungle in Calais, leaving the path clear for EU countries to re-fill it up.. (rinse -repeat ad infinitum) Him and his left wing mates, rounded on my post immediately. Saying it's our responsibility, as we went to war in the Middle East. I responded by stating that I personally hadn't "gone to war with" anyone and pointed out it was in fact the government at the time, who sent our armed forces,,, not me.
More left wing rhetoric later and they're still blaming the great British public.. F*****g idiots.
Seems to me that there lies our greatest enemy, the enemy within: the bleeding heart liberals.
I sometimes think that if, in some way, we could divide the country into two parts we could have all the do-gooders and their lovely illegal immigrants in one part, and the rest of us - the realists - in the other. They could then spend their time looking over the fence and wondering why the grass on our side is so much greener.

I know - send them to Scotland! :ROFLMAO: (Sorry Jock.)

I think they believe that babies are nothing to do with sex. A stork brings them, often at the most inconvenient of times. I know that for a fact: it was on Monty Python's 'The Meaning of Life'.

I really don't care about the economic side of the argument.

We are a rich nation, we can afford to take in millions (yes, millions) and house them service them and not see a huge negative effect on the economy (Note, whilst I say this is possible I do not say it is likely, as it is we can't even sort out the 5 million under and unemployed we have).

The problem is cultural, countries with endemic corruption have a population used to it and almost tolerant of it, you can't bring in large numbers of people (large enough that they can form their own community rather than be forced to amalgamate) and expect them to suddenly adopt our cultural norms (I.e. all the tower hamlets Bangladeshi voting fraud).

Same with sexual equality, attitudes towards crime, racism (which is not just white on black, i.e see how utterly horribly racist the Chinese can be).

It took us a long time and a lot of blood to get society to where it is morally and culturally today, we have a long way to go, I don't want to see that progress reversed because we bring in a load of cultural neanderthals.

Another thing I have noticed (on the BBC of course) a lot of the young blinkered of today somehow think that Britain is (or was) great by accident. I understand that no one can choose where they are born but Britain became great due to intelligence, ingenuity, patriotism and sheer bloody hard work -ok, and a bit of pillaging. We could have all sat around playing dominoes for a living but we didn't.

Britain became great because of its size, even though it is small.

It does not mean marvellous.

Great Britain is the same as Greater Manchester.

Perfectly true. I have heard a number of reasons for our (earlier) success as a country (yes, I'm afraid we're not as 'successful' as we once were). There is no doubt that the Industrial Revolution came about due to our inventiveness, and suggestions have been made that this in turn was due to our being obliged to think up solutions to problems caused by, for example, our inhospitable climate.
Compare this to Africa, much of which contains excellent fertile farming land. The fact that their climate is so much warmer than ours suggests that there has never been any real incentive to do anything to improve matters, hence the rarity of African inventors and consequently a lack of their own equivalent 'industrial revolution'.

no someone or some group in britain decided to give it that title so no more than an opinion that dosen't make it fact
