    Some fittings the cowels are to small to hide a small junction box in the ceiling or even plaster roses especially when you can't get the floor boards up above so your are left with just connectors.which i guess is wrong

    Quick question

    Every electrical joint/connection should be in an enclosure,so when fitting various lights in domestic properties most lights do not have the means to do so,(connectors pushed into the ceiling). Could anyone give advice on such connection methods,or do inspectors overlook it.

    many people mention to pull the rec's fuse,which means cutting the seals,i thought that was something not to do,due to the fact that you can get into trouble with the electricity board.

    As what Plugwash wrote, it's not rocket science to change your consumer unit,but your existing circuits should be tested to see if disconnection times can still be achieved with your new mcb's.

    you could move your cu 8 metres however any tails longer than 3 metres would have to protected by a fuse to suit size of cable
