Scuff mark from handle of Stanley knife - removal?

Have had this once before but was hidden when re-siliconed! Cutting old silicone out and handle of knife against the tile has left a thin black scuff mark along the length of the screen profile! Didn't even apply a lot of pressure and the part that made the mark was plastic! Is it a scratch...

Liberty 100 smart meter - economy boost?

Is there a way to energise the economy 7 supply during peak hours with this meter? The 5th terminal? Looked up that it can be done on the liberty 110 by pressing 2 and then A! Didn't work on this one. Just replaced 2 immersion stats on a direct cylinder and wanted to check them both as...

Have read a couple of similar posts but wondered if I could get more advice before tackling removing the fascia for access! Range is about 10 years old. Recently, right electric oven trips mcb when the control knob is turned to on... Does it instantly! Can see a small flash behind the knob...

    Recognise this pan connector?

It's been cemented in and I know it's the type you can easily replace the rubber. But someone has disposed of the old pan and it must have still had the rubber and top cap on the spigot! So, instead of having to smash out the old body, I want to try and get a replacement and use just the bits...

Does anyone use/have one of these? From April 24 will need to submit receipts digitally and I'd like to start now. Also helps avoid losing and having to trawl through coffee stained and feint bits of paper without missing owt! Hoping there's a standalone app that doesn't tie you in with a...

    Repair and decorate RSJs

Got some repairs to do at a Barn conversion. Not been up that long but already signs of poor workmanship in build. Need to prep and paint these steels that are looking rough. Mainly the bases of 30ft steels, what extent to strip back and then fill/use a filling paint to feather in to good...

    Is this a defective capacitor?

Hi all, I'm usually found in the plumbing and heating or combustion chamber forums. I've a powerflushing machine (basically a pump) which is having issues. The motor has a start up capacitor which is showing a blob of what looks like blue tack on the side, but it's rock hard. Should this...

We have 2 very hairy retrievers. Always bloody moulting. Constantly sweeping the hard wood floor and tiled kitchen downstairs. Always fluff bunnies lurking under tables etc. Any suggestions for a reasonably priced robot vac that does good job? Like all these things, there's a huge range...

Got a customer who wants one of these fitted. She sent me a link to this one... https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/bmb-nova-pro-with-premium-3-way-drinking-water-kitchen-tap-reverse-osmosis-biocera-alkaline-antioxidant-water-filter-system And I said I'd be hesitant to get one from there. So...

Aqualisa odd thread to 1/2" bsp

Anyone know if there's an adaptor available for aqualisa shower arms to take a 1/2" bsp shower head? The male thread on the arm seems to be unique to Aqualisa (18mm or thereabouts!) Took a new head and it didn't fit! Looked like a right nana.

    Defective Nest Heat Link?

Just wired up today. Couldn't get hot water to turn off unless using cylinder stat. Constant 240v on pin 6 of heat link despite no demand on stat. Linked 240v over from L pin to pin 2 (CH) and pin 5 (HW). Guessing relay stuck on HW. Sanity check please.
