Misread message. Thought it was boilermate 2000. Boilermate 2's are set during installation to give the right temp difference accross the radiator circuit and primary circuit. They should have been set in the same way they were found...assuming they were set up correctly

You say you checked the trv but what about the lockshield on the other side?

Seen that loads of times. A swan neck will help but youll be very lucky if its enough. You will probably have about 40 or 50mm gap left. A painted baton doesn't look bad to fill that gap

A boiler service is about safety and efficiency. The point of a boiler service is to service a boiler strangely enough. How exactly do you propose touching the "circuits with water in them?" Drain the entire system? Use some X-Ray specs?

Just because it has one pipe linking 3 rads doesnt mean its a one pipe system. You can still balance a one pipe system but you cant balance these. The 1st rad will always be the hottest and the last will always be the coldest because radiators are designed to remove the heat that they contain...

Howmatic? Do you mean a flowmatic? I dont think these have plates in them. You would need to get a gas engineer to have a look at it to check then sensors and gas pressures

Its a common problem with combi boilers. Shounds like your plate heat exhanger needs replacing or cleaning. Is the boiler a vokera linea?
