Roll some toilet roll so you can place on sealant around the bath soak with bleach leave for 10-15 mins then take off and rinse with cold water .Works ok

I had exact same problem. Adjusted ball valve problem solved.

Assuming existing pipe 1" dia need a 3/4 bsp female to 1/2 bsp male to fit shower head.

If the pipe is 1" diameter most likley to be 3/4 bsp

Previous meter was probably imperial this one metric .Devide reading by 2.83 to equate with previous usage.

Pipe is not 7/8 Pipe thread is 7/8 BSP 30.2 m/m diameter I turned fittings 50 yrs ago and there is also 1/1/8 BSP thats the size of thread on most gas meters.Have a look at. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_standard_pipe_thread

Probably 7/8 BSP 14 threads to inch

Outflow pipe on your drawing shows it to be half way up washer.Should be at least 27" high from bottom of washing machine.
