fault code f5 on Viessman Vitodens 100

F5 is Fixed!! Warranty Boiler engineer came out under warranty. The small square flappy thing sits on a rubber seal. Over time, this rubber seal sweats and becomes sticky with use. When the flap rests on it for a time when the boiler is off, it sticks to the sticky seal! The fan cannot...

fault code f5 on Viessman Vitodens 100

Sounds like it could be, whats the fix? I did mention about flappy after looking at these forums yesterday but he said that there was nothing to indicate any serviceable parts inside the case bit and taking the cover off would mean replacing the gasket which he didnt have on him? Edit...

fault code f5 on Viessman Vitodens 100

Morning Gents, I have F5 on my boiler this morning too. I had a boiler engineer look at it yesterday and he said its a viesmann call out job. Still trying to get through to them, engaged tone, since 8am. The boiler is 2.5 years old, will they come out at all?

Building regs for stairs - needed?

I have a similar situation in my loft. Boarded, insulated though, and have space where I could potentiall put some non compliant stairs. However, headroom is not great. 1.92m from ceiling joists to ridgeboard. Despite that though, its a great space (19tf x 10ft) and seems such a shame if it...

Do Isolator/Service valves reduce flow rate?

Thanks for the comments Gents. Lever ones could be used for hot and normal ones for cold by the sounds of it. In theory the shower should be savvy enough to control the pressure and maintain temperature, why else would you buy a Mira Excel at £370! Interesting debate though, thanks...

Do Isolator/Service valves reduce flow rate?

Thanks for that Chris. I guess you mean if for example someone flushes the toilet it wont take all the pressure away from my shower?

Do Isolator/Service valves reduce flow rate?

Morning Gentlemen, When I install my shower, MIRA Excel running from a Combi, will service valves reduce the flow rate significantly? Are there special isolator/service valves that dont ? Regards Andy

Save files off hard disk drive?

Yes what you have said initially should work. Assuming the USB Caddy has the same interface. I.e. IDE/SATA

    bathroom from start to finish.

A lot of chat and not much common sense. With regards to tiling before or after, you can always fit the sanitaryware and leave a 10mm spacer gap. This way, you can get on with tiling and still have your facilities available to use. When it comes to tiling around the basin/toilet. Just...

Wet on celotex roofside - update: problem found

Yes no doubt it probably will get up into the loft. But when my cupboard are in and the insulation is platerboarded those small amounts should vent out of the velux window vents or be dispersed around. Where I've partially celotexed it, theres a nice easy path for the air to flow up into the...

Building regs with converting loft for storage ONLY

Cheers Deluks but I'll just go for the safer extension lead option I think. Moderator can this be pinned as virtually everyday a post comes on here regarding loft boarding for space only and there is some useful stuff in here. There isnt much in the wiki either.

Wet on celotex roofside - update: problem found

Realised what was going on. If I leave the loft hatch open for a couple of hours whilst I'm working up in the loft, the warm air from the house condenses in the air gap between the felt and the celotex. PROBLEM SOLVED. Close loft hatch whilst working!

Wet on celotex roofside - update: problem found

Hi Deluks! No the insulation is not down to the eaves so I would have though there was sufficient airflow there now. There is a cover of sorts on the cold water tank but a partial one only on the central heating one. Its very strange indeed. Its spooked me a bit!

Building Control are here to help you? Yeah right.

I think you're right. I've decided not to go for a proper because to have any real benefit to me and the house i'd have to spend a fortune. I can do a board job, without electrics apart from lights (extension leads screwed to wall), make a new opening in airing cupboard, and make some new...

    Loft insulation

Not sure you want to build the joists up to 10 inches? Why dont you just lay it between the the existing joists and have it proud?

Wet on celotex roofside - update: problem found

Whilst I was up in my loft last night I noticed a lot of condensation on the roof side of the celotex insulation. So much that it had been dripping, onto the floor from where I have only partially insulated it halfway down to the eaves cupboards. Initially I thought this was a leak, but then...

Building Control are here to help you? Yeah right.

Yeah you could be right thanks mate. I mean low ceiling height is only an issue when you're walking from a to b. When you're in bed, watching telly or sat down a lowish ceiling is not a problem I would say. My only option with regards to the stairs is to effectively reduce the ceiling in one...
