I want to permanently glue an M10 A2 stud into a female threaded brass insert. What's the best thread lock glue for the job? Loctite 270 seems to fit the bill. Just wondered if people think this is a good one or if anything else would suit better. Cheers.

Thanks, appreciate that. Yes its similar to what I want. The mechanism needs to be detachable though so I screw a bolt into it - all the antiluces seem to be either with bolts moulded on or can only be attached to a bolt by welding. Close, but no cigar! :)

Does anyone know what this mechanism at the top of the bolt is called? It's for turning the bolt by hand. The flat metal 'finger' acts as a lever to turn the bolt using your fingers and thumb and it also pivots up and down. The bolt attached to the mechanism is M10. I want to get hold of...

I haven't looked for availability on anything yet, was trying to research grades of stainless steel first. Was going to hunt down suppliers of the right material when I know what it is.

Anyone know what type of stainless steel has the best resistance to bending? I'm looking to make a threaded stud which needs to be as strong as possible for stainless steel. Cheers.

Cheers guys! This was the answer I was looking for, the stud lock glue, the nuts, sounds like that'll do the job. I've been wracking my brains, and google for days trying to come up with a solution, think this is it. I'll let you know how I get on.

Wow, sounds good. So would this provide enough resistance so that with a lot of force applied on the lever it keeps the stud locked in? The lever will require some heavy turning by hand, in and out, so the stud staying put is essential.

Will it be strong enough to do that? I thought the force against the screw would break the glue?

Sorry not sure what you mean. The stud/lever will be screwed into an M10 hole.
