We currently have an ideal logic+ with a salus rt500rf thermostat however there isnt a function to simply turn the heating on and off without programming it for set times...is there a better one that can be overridden when needed?

Just had a local company round...they quoted 1800 to supply and fit an ideal logic plus condensing boiler....says its straight forward ....is this a good reliable boiler agile?

Ok lets say £200 for a few new valves and some pipe should it be needed.....1200 still seems high.

Agile...im in scotland ..My boiler is a halstead ace which fires up for a second and cuts out. Its old and probably safer to replace rather than repair....previously we only had hot water with the heating on and so i changed the diaphram but that never fixed the problem. Dan....the new boiler...

We are replacing our old boiler as its knackered....we want the new boiler fitted in the exact same place as the old one and wondered roughly what the costs would be. We did phone one guy who quoted £2400 but thought that seemed way too much....any info appreciated

The reason we are replacing the boiler is because when the dial is switched to hot water ...after a few minutes or sometimes a few hours it automatically turns on the central heating. Now we have to turn off the bolier completely then turn it back on when we need either hot water or heating.

The boiler im thinking of is the baxi duo tec combi.....i currently have a halstead ace high running 7 radiators. The boiler is from screwfix and it was them that advised me on which boiler to get based on the number of radiators we currently have

We are looking to replace our old boiler and just want the new one to sit exactly where the existing one is...can anyone give me an idea of how much it would cost?.....we will buy the boiler ourselves

Thanks.....i had a look at it earlier. When i turned it to hot water it was fine for around 5 minutes then without anyone turning on the hot taps the switch clicked on the central heating yet the main switch was still on hot water......could it be the switch at fault or does this sound like a...

Yeah the prices are rediculous...as long as im not touching gas pipes then im happy to try it....im also querieing whether it could be a faulty DHW switch as mentioned in another thread...need to find out what the hell that is first

I have a problem with my boiler in that when it is set to hot water the central heating is coming on with it.....ive looked around and found that some people suspect the flow diverter valve....i can see this valve and it has a few pipes running into it and wondered if its something i could fix...
