    double spigot waste drainage

Thank you. I thought it might be as you say but I wanted to be sure. Not being a plumber, it's too easy to think you know what you're doing and then find you don't! I appreciate your help. Have a great New Year! :)

    double spigot waste drainage

Hi there, Currently, my washing machine water drains into an ordinary, straightforward upstand. I want to drain a condenser tumble dryer into that same pipe. I've seen 'double spigot' parts but can't quite see how to fix this to the upstand pipe. Any help would be greatly...

getting permission for building over a sewer

Hmm. Bearing in mind that the same architect was used for the 2 extensions at the same property, within a similar distance from the sewer, I would have expected that the needs for permission would have been the same. For one extension, all the paperwork is there. For the other it is not. I...

getting permission for building over a sewer

That's interesting - but we did need to get such permissions for the other extension - both are similar distances from the sewer - just at different ends of the house.

getting permission for building over a sewer

ummm, haven't got a clue. We moved in in 2005, haven't been told anything about the sewers at all. The sewer is only connected to one other house, a neighbour, if that helps.

getting permission for building over a sewer

Hi there I wonder if you can help? When planning an extension near to an existing sewer, whose responsibility is it to actually apply for and get the necessary permission from the water company? Should it be the building contractor or the owner?

new shower hose results in low pressure

Gosh, that's a bit of a nuisance! If I try to measure the internal diameter of the actual shower head, that, I would think give me a clue at least. Would you agree?

new shower hose results in low pressure

ah, thank you. Do you know if there are more than 2 different possible diameters? The original hose was collected by the bin men a few days ago! If I take off the one I've just put on, would it be fairly obvious that I would just need to get 'the other' size?

new shower hose results in low pressure

Hello I'm new to this so would be grateful for any help offered. Old shower hose was leaking badly, so I replaced it with a new one; a 'universal' one bought from a national diy store. No more leaks so pleased with that but the pressure at the shower head is now ridiculously low. I don't...
