Hi Newbyak, Just wondering how you got on with this? we are in exactly the same situation, need the car space around the house and want to put a first floor extension with possible attic room on top again, all on columns. It also avoids going near sewage pipes gas lines etc etc. Cheers, N

Vokera Mynute HE35 no Led display ?

Just an as update on this issue incase anyone reads it. This was caused by a poor installation of the flue, whereby anytime it rained on the North side of our house rain water ran down the flue and into the boiler. Components were getting wet and ultimately a lot of stuff had to be changed...

    vokera

Not good from our experience. Ours is not quite 3 years old and it has been repaired 3 times so far, once under warranty. Would be cheaper at this stage to just rip it out and replace with a decent brand, in lieu of the fact it will probably need repaired at a call out fee of £180...

Vokera Mynute HE35 no Led display ?

Hi there, We've had a multitude of problems with this boiler, the latest is that the seemingly randomly the display goes blank (i.e. no lights at all on boiler) and the boiler does not turn on or ignite. It has been serviced in the past 8 weeks. We leave it a few hours and it seems to work...

Belling Oven XOU90FP Door not closing

Hi there, After 2 years service the door on the lower larger oven now does not shut fully. Is there any way to adjust the hinges on these to make it close, at the top there will be ~1/2 cm between the edge seal and door. As a result condensation drips from the bottom of the oven onto units...

    Corner Pc cabinet

Cool ended up just getting the rad moved in the end as hacking at the unit would have been a disaster. Is a great cabinet plenty sturdy and the keyboard tray extends out quite far so I just ended up putting out printer in the bottom along with the pc tower as you end up with plenty of leg...

    Corner Pc cabinet

I think you may not have noticed from the original picture link that this unit is not wholly triangular. There are flat edges protruding to which the triangular edge (i.e. doors) fits so you retain lots of the space internally.

    Corner Pc cabinet

Its an old style radiator so unless I want a 9 inch gap between the unit and the wall no point moving it. I'm not sure on your figures but I've seen the unit n the flesh and it is both neat and compact and any rectangular one's I've seen intrude way too much into other room space.

    Corner Pc cabinet

Cheers for the advice. Have seen the unit and think it could just about be squeezed in if the skirting was removed from wall behid it. Rather than ammend the dimesnions of the unit itself I was going to jigsaw out a small section in order to have it fit around the rad pipe at the bottom...

    Corner Pc cabinet

Hi there, We are on the look out for a corner pc cabinet with closing doors to tidy up our pc workspace. There is one in Ikea http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/10059151 which is perfect in every respect except that it is slighty too deep @ 88cm we have 82 @ most) and will knock into...

    Wood floor \ furniture question...

Hi there, Apologies if this is in the wrong forum ! In our last house we had soft wood floors in the dining room, we got a new kitchen table and chairs which came with little semi spherical plastic tabs nailed to the feet. Unfortunately these dug up the floor something shocking so we took...

    Polished Granite Worktop Stains

Yes this is exactly how I thought the stone should react, whichever brand we have though seems to need some care. The stone masons came out in the end and actually burned the stains out of the surface which seemed to work by and large. They also left us a kit with which we need to treat it...

    Polished Granite Worktop Stains

Cheers for feedback, am I right in thinking that even when coprrectly treated if something like lemon juice is left on there for a few hours it will stain ? Trying to gauge how carefu we need to be once we get this fixed around any potentially damaging things like this or hot oven pots or...

    Polished Granite Worktop Stains

Update... I have since been informed that a treatment / care kit should have been left with this worktop but was not. Now we know it was never sealed correctly. Surprised that granite and stone surfaces need this treatment apparently they do though, oil and grease being especially bad...

    Polished Granite Worktop Stains

Hi there, We recently got a new granite worktop but have noticed that it seems to be taking ring stains from cups \ glasses etc really badly. For some reason I thought that a granite surface would not suffer from this kind of issue ? Anything we can do about this ? Thanks, Mully
