Allowed Easifill to dry and sanded it down, can I still prepare it for a second coat?

Thanks very much for the help, I did as you said. I brushed it clean and then applied a very light amount of water with a paintbrush. I then applied another coat of easifill and went for an ever so slightly more watery mix. Felt like it went on reasonably well and happier with the result. I’ll...

Allowed Easifill to dry and sanded it down, can I still prepare it for a second coat?

Yeh I realise now that I should have just used something more suitable than easifill. Would I be able to use tx110 on top of what I’ve done? Or is there anything else suitable to apply on top of the Easifill to finish it properly?

Allowed Easifill to dry and sanded it down, can I still prepare it for a second coat?

After removing a stud wall, I was left with a 10cm gap in the plaster on the adjoining external wall. I applied a thistle undercoat and then a layer of easifill on top. I’ve now allowed it to fully dry (over 24h) but I need to add in a second layer of easifill to make it flush and level with the...

    Wall strap replacement

Do you say this because it is made of timber as opposed to steel? Are holding down straps never made of timber?

    Wall strap replacement

Might have the wrong term for it but I was told it could be acting as a strap to prevent the wall plate/roof lifting?

So you don’t think it’s a wall strap in this instance?

    Wall strap replacement

Hi, I’ve taken out a small section of stud wall and have a single vertical stud remaining. The stud is nailed into the exterior wall and it seems like it might be a wall strap as it is nailed into what looks like a horizontal wall plate in the loft. It has pretty chunky (and rusty) nails and is...

Removed stud wall and need to make ceiling and wall good

My concern with replacing it would be that removing the nails could damage the brickwork behind. If I was to leave it in and put wardrobe panels around it to box it in, what would you recommend in order to fill in the gap between stud and wall, as well as the void between panel edge and wall? Or...

Removed stud wall and need to make ceiling and wall good

Hi Blup, thanks for the help. Having had a closer look at the remaining stud that I was going to take out, I’m slightly concerned it might be structural as it has pretty chunky (and rusty) nails and is hammered in at lots of points to the brick wall. It is also attached to a horizontal piece of...

Removed stud wall and need to make ceiling and wall good

Hi, my first time posting in here as just bought our first house. The bedroom had a built in wardrobe with quite a narrow opening that we decided to widen so that we could install sliding doors. To do this I took out a non-load bearing section of stud wall that adjoined to a brick exterior...
