grade d fire alarm with hush/test/silence button

Hi Has anyone installed a grade d fire alarm with a remote hush/test/silence button? Looks like most mains/9v battery interconnect optical smoke detectors can't have this option. Any ideas on how to acheive this with 3 core+e cabling. Thanks in advance Tilla Tech

LABC insisting on Part P qualified to issue PIR

But the fact that a building notice was made before the works was started, would that not entitle the householder to ask the council to come and do a final inspection and testing themselves? Also I remember reading somewhere (maybe the ODPM part P website) that if an electrician goes...

LABC insisting on Part P qualified to issue PIR

I issued the PIR recently, the extension work finished two years ago. Reason I'm asking is that I submitted a PIR for a rewire of a house in Bedford. The original electrician did only the first fix and scarppered , I went and finished it off, issued a PIR and the Bedford Council inspector...

    Equipotential bonding of boiler pipes

Hi Had a look thru previous threads but couldnt find anything. I have noticed that plumbers/heating eng cross bond all the metal pipes on a combi boiler except the copper overflow pipe which runs to an outside gully. From what I understand I would have thought that this over flow pipe would...

Council requiring only NIC/ECA contractor to do private work

Luton Borough Council. Before you chaps take it up with the council. Let my freind get the work done and his other building work cleared and his letting licence approved. Knowing what councils are like, if they get 'upset' they can be awkward to deal with. Thanks
