    understanding 3-port valves?

All 3 port valves work the same way. When there is no power in the grey and white wires the valve is not energised and is for hot water only. When there is power in the white wire a microswitch is energised and moves the valve to CH and Hot water. When the white and grey wires are energised a...

    POTTERTON SUPRIMA 40L

If it is a Y plan then check the 3 port valve microswitches as the valve is not energised for HW only. If you have CH and HW on does the HW work and the CH not work. a sure sign of a faulty 3 port valve. Cheers

    New Rules

The CFL is two weeks old. In ten years I havn't changed an incandescent bulb in the hall, landing or bathroom. Leaving a light on all night defeats the object of saving energy and confirms the inadequaties of CFLs. If CFLs don't light instantly then they are a backward step from incadescent...

Suprima 40 with 5111603 PCB and Amber light problem.

The constant amber light means there is no external call for heat. Does the boiler turn off when on Hot Water only, if it does not then it could be a faulty room stat. Turn the room stat to maximum, does the boiler turn off after an hour if so could be faulty room stat. Cheers
