as you may already know i know feck all about electrics,why does the black conductor need brown sleeving???? and would it cause any damage if it did'nt thanks

can someone tell which wires go where on this new light fitting as its different from the old one. this is the old fitting and this is the new fittings in the last pic i'm guessing thats where the earth wire goes???

my mothers sky box is playing up,its stuck on standby. she's tried unplugging everything then putting it back on again but still no joy. just thought i'd try on here before a call to an engineer,any help would be most appreciated. btw the sky box is an amstrad if that helps. cheers

its just over 5yrs i think the usual just out of warranty,i will give that a try cheers.

our ultimo extra has just started to play up,when coming to the end of a cycle it won't go onto the spin cycle,you can hear the machine still going until it finishes. can anyone help or is it a case of getting an engineer out to it?? thanks
