    Aldi battery power pack dissapointment.

It works with another charger that's 12v so it isn't the pack's charger point that's faulty, just the adapter.

    Aldi battery power pack dissapointment.

It's still working the lights and the compressor. How will I know if it has crystallized ?

    Aldi battery power pack dissapointment.

I bought one of those Aldi Power packs for the security of being able to start a flat battery. My Peugeot 106 has some kind of fault that drains the battery and is intermittent. What happens is sometimes when you take out the ignition keys, the fan or other electrical device will carry on...

    Battery Charger

I have one of those power packs that has jump leads attached. For some reason the 15 v adapter that charges the unit doesn't work. I have plugged in another switchable voltage adapter that has a maximum of 12 v output. It seems to be working as the charging light is on the power pack. Will this...

Cant open the valve on radiator.

Got really good pair of long nosed pliers with good grip and they can't shift the beggar. Why do they make the screws so soft ? it's ridiculous. I will try and cut a grove in the to of the screw and get a flat screwdriver in it.

Cant open the valve on radiator.

Surely if I get hold of some long nosed pliers and get the screw out I can get a replacement bleed screw? New radiator seems a bit of a jump.

Cant open the valve on radiator.

The key that unlocks my radiator valve for bleeding airlocks no longer grips. It just turns around not moving the screw. It's not the key as it works on other radiators. I have tried gripping the larger nutt that houses the screw but it's stuck fast and well painted over. Is there anything...

    Worn bleed screw

The bleed screw in my radiator doesn't turn when I engage the key. The main nut is sealed from years of painting so I cannot get to that either. Is there a special tool that can get the screw out so I can replace it ?

    Exterior door rot

What about antifreeze to treat the wood rot and then Milliput expoy putty ? Failing that, a new piece of wood.

    Exterior door rot

The bottom of the outer door is worse than I initialy thought. The inside is solid wood, its the outer tongue and groove layer that is suffering at the bottom. I have bought some putty to fill it before I paint. It has linseed oil in so should help preserve. It may not be the right way to do...

    Exterior door rot

I have a solid wood back door which is very good but on the outside at the bottom there is a small hole where the wood has rotted. I am going to paint it with undercoat and a weather shield gloss again but what advice would anyone give to treating and filing the rotten area before painting ...

    Single lever mixer tap

After having got through 2 single lever mixer taps in the space of about a year for my kitchen because water (both taps) after a few months began to pour out from underneath the actual lever when switched off. I have decided to make sure I get a decent one without paying silly money. The...

    Can't uninstall We-blocker

I have We Blocker and cannot uninstall. It doesn't even block anything like it should. If I log into to my controls it asks for my master password which it accepts. When I try to uninstall it asks for it but won't accept it even though its the same password. Can anyone help me git rid of this ?

Cost of instaling if I buy the bits myself

By the way, would that also mean you would have to supply your own tea ?

Cost of instaling if I buy the bits myself

Never never ever pay any tradesman for work before they have completed the job. Once payed, thats your ace card gone. £5 K is ridiculous. I was quoted 3 K with a system flush, Worcester boiler, rads and remote control. Plumbers are getting like premiership footballers.

Cost of instaling if I buy the bits myself

If I sourced my own boiler and radiators (x5) roughly, how much would anyone here charge to install the system (combi boiler in bathroom and take out old boiler in kitchen) on existing pipes as well as a flush. Also, would you take on a job where all the parts were supplied by the home owner?

    Cheap to run potable heaters.

Our central heating pump has gone and it will cost 3 grand for a new system (which we need). We haven't the money and need some kind of electric backup heaters that are the cheapest to run. I hear those oil ones are quite good as well as halogen. Can anyone recommend anything ?

    Sticking Pump

I have an old Vulcan (as some of you are already aware of) and I have been getting by with the pump working on and off. If it sticks, there is a fast/slow switch on it that when turned back and too usually got it turning again. Also , if I leave long gaps between turning on and off it worked...

    Car dead

Thanks. The only way to test it will be to take it off and carry it into the shop. One thing a while bck I found was the fuse for the rear window heater had melted in the box. I managed to get it out eventually and replace it. I would have seen if the interior lights were still on as it was...
