I don't wish to be negative OP, but from your OP, It doesn't sound like you know enough about leccy and are lacking in the confidence side.

People have also "Nailed" them in the past too.

Personally, I would fix them with screws. People have "No Nailed", "Nailed" & and even held them in place with cement and plaster in the past. But, as I say, I would drill, rawl plug & Screw.
