    Mains water pipe casing mould

I was going to get a condenser tumble dryer as it has to go in the kitchen and I can't use the vent pipe. Will this be ok? As for the pipe, I'll speak to a plumber and talk about burying the pipe deeper in the wall and see how much it will cost. I am redecorating the room later this year...

    Mains water pipe casing mould

Thanks for the reply. Looking at your post explains things. Currently we don't have extractors in our bathroom or kitchen which I will look to get installed soon. We also hang our washing on radiators and don't open windows downstairs. I will be buying a tumble dryer this month and will make...

    Mains water pipe casing mould

HI, have a bit of an issue where a mains water pipe that runs up my living room wall is causing mould. Before I moved in a new kitchen was built so the old kitchen was converted to the front room. They did not cover the mains stopcock and they plastered/skimmed over the pipe which runs up the...

    Water dripping inside flue?

Just an update in case others have had this prob. When it finally rained the other day in daylight I could clearly see the problem. There was water dripping off from the main roof and landing on top of the flue. Because the drips fell from a long way they made a loud noise which is why I...

    Water dripping inside flue?

Yes it is odd. I hear the noise at the big pipe in picture 3 and not outside and the exact conditions so far has only been when it is ****ing down with rain :)

    Water dripping inside flue?

Ok after talking to a friend I may have described this badly (as usual). The pipe I was talking about is an extension I think. Before I moved into the house the old owner had a dispute with the neighbours over the gases going into their window shown in the first picture. Even though the...

    Water dripping inside flue?

Thanks for the quick reply so there is no real chance of it affecting the gas escaping? I really just want to know if it can be dangerous for now as I have wife and kids at home thanks again

    Water dripping inside flue?

Hi, I have a baxi combi 105HE installed downstairs in my house. From when the flue gets outside it goes straight up the wall and then after a 90 degree angle (roughly) it goes horizontally for a short bit. Now while it was heavily raining tonight I heard a constant dripping coming from...

    Small repair

I had my cooker wiring moved a couple of years ago because it went diagonally from the switch to the box behind the cooker. I plastered over the conduit above the worktop level with bonding plaster and then multi finish but I never finished it off below worktop level Is there anything I can...

    New Plaster

Sorry to be thick but what do you mean by this? The cracks have come to the surface and are open but the plaster is stuck to the wall well enough. A couple of hollow sounds but hardly any to be honest. Was going to just fill and paint over and see what happens

    PVC trims

HI, I was just wondering what the pro's use to stick those pvc strips to the wall that you use round pvc windows and doors? For the door I want to use the big wide strips so I want to make sure whatever I use keeps it stuck on? Also worth noting is that I plan to buy a new front door in a...

    New Plaster

Hi there, I have just had a porch and small bedroom re skimmed and have a couple of questions please. There is a small area in the porch that was plastered that has dried out too quickly which I guess is either due to being plastered over the sandy render stuff or me forgetting to turn the...

    Removing sealant

Hi, I have just purchased an ex display bathroom which I am happy with. 1 thing though, Wickes have used some sort of rubbery sealent round the top of the pedestal where the sink sits on. What is the best thing I can do to remove this? I have tried peeling it off but I can't beleive how tough...

    Help a newbie please

Ok lets start of by stating that my knowledge for electrics is about as bad as it can get. I can change plugs and switches aslong as I can copy the old one :) Right in my toolbox I have a pen "kewtech" pen that glows when I hold it near anything with a current i.e power cables, plug sockets...
